Friday 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Lonnie and Angelene Johnson are the chef and manager at the new Eagle's Nest Restaurant at Eagle Cove Marina. With the expanded offerings of traditional Southern cooking on Sundays, Lonnie also offers juicy barbequed meats with succulent homemade secret sauces that tempt and tingle the tastebuds. Lonnie discovered his love of cooking when he was a young boy growing up in the Taylorville community. Lonnie's mother wanted all her children to participate in church activities, but Lonnie discovered his enjoyment came after Sunday school lessons were over when he could get in his Mama's kitchen and cook up Sunday lunch for his family.
The restaurant offers a traditional Southern buffet on Sundays and features succulent Boston butt, fried catfish, and chicken dinners on Fridays and Saturdays.
